Is Disney Heroes: Battle Mode P2W?

Disney Heroes: Battle Mode
A mobile game released on May 17, 2018 that is gaining traction as of recent date. Released on both Android and IOS, both audiences enjoy the game. On the Android, the game had already gathered a 40k rating within 15 days. There is a clear indication the game isn't merely riding on it's name for success.

Whereas on the IOS, the reaction is quite similar, albeit significantly smaller reactions, but higher on the scoreboard of RPG. This is no surprise, the name does provide some traction for the new players.

Unfortunately, that effect seems to wear off quick. There is various issues with this game that reviewers have posted.
There are problems, like with many other Mobile games, that it's only easy to play till a certain level, then the game forces your hand to pay otherwise difficulty is near impossible with the current freebies. I have great assumptions that this isn't a false accusation either. One reviewer I know, who I will quote, said to me, "The game allows you to progress however slow or fast you want, but you won't progress faster than other's without diamonds."

There is an easier reasoning why this game leans more towards P2W, auto battle. Auto battle is one of those game-play design that I personally despise: there is very limited user skill, less interaction. The only variable is your character, and your skills used at every cool down. I see no enjoyment, but for others, especially children, this game is quite fun. It's watching their favorite cartoon characters fight bad guys and such. There is a long bit of game to be played before the children ever hit the bottleneck.

A quick glance at the game's design, the game certainly feels polished. Like all things, one shouldn't be fooled so easily. I'd personally say give it a try. It's a game that has your favorite Disney characters. Game-play, IAP that obviously caters for speed and min maxing your character, I don't feel compelled to play the game personally.

Though don't only take my word for it. I'll be quoting my buddy, DisneyXD who gladly decided to review the game for me. He seems to hold a opposing view, but nonetheless its something to read.

Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is a quest related Disney Character Mobile Game that allows you to control up to Five Disney characters to use in battle to eliminate Glitch versions of specific Disney characters. While you play through chapter to chapter, you come across text boxes informing you of the campaigns story. To sum it up quickly, a virus is corrupting every pixel, turning every Disney Characters friends and family against them. Now, for the in-game crates.

In the game, there are crates that give you little goodies that reset every time they are opened. The Gold crate (which is the basic Crate) resets every ten minutes. Giving you basic badges and hero chips. Hero chips after collecting a certain amount needed for that specific character unlocks him/her. The Diamond Crate gives you Rare badges and full heroes. And the guild crate badges and featured hero chips. There is also a VIP crate but that is only if you have the VIP 11 status, which just gives you featured hero chips.

There are quests in-game that after completed gives you goodies like gold (needed to upgrade characters and purchase things) and Diamonds which we will be talking about shortly. While you are completing quests your Teams level slowly upgrades from the experience that quest gives you. There are also daily deals that you earn every single day, so make sure to log on every day so you don’t miss out.

Now, the Diamonds.Diamonds are basically in-game currency that gives you higher quality items. From Rare badges, to full Heroes. There is a $4.99 deal that gives you 330 diamonds plus 150 VIP rings. $9.99 deal that gives you 700 diamonds plus 300 VIP rings. $19.99 deal that gives you 1,500 diamonds plus 600 VIP rings. $49.99 deal that gives you 4,000 diamonds plus 1,500 VIP rings. Then a $99.99 deal that gives you 8,200 diamonds plus 3,000 VIP rings. Keep in mind, that limited time offers come around giving you much more than the original prices that I added her. There is also daily deals that if you purchase will give you instantly a set amount of diamonds, plus a 120 extra diamonds daily. To gain in VIP level, you need the VIP rings The higher the amount of VIP rings, the higher your VIP status.

All in all, the game allows you to progress however slow or fast you want, but you won't progress faster than other's without diamonds. There isn’t a PVP mode, so you aren’t fighting to progress faster than others. It’s mostly set around the games Campaign mode which is do-able without needing to use the diamonds. I would say it’s not a pay to win game and allows you to have fun without paying real money. This game is enjoyable and I could see myself continuing to enjoy it for many days to come. I hope this review of Disney Heroes: Battle Mode helped you debate on if you should download it or not. Continue fighting on everyone!
The pricing of the IAP really rings a bell and I'm salivating. I seen the pattern of games with these pricing, the game really changes once you pay with these pricing. I will have to rate this game is at a 75% out of 100, for how P2W it is.
